Hello. Many of us have exams now, so I decided to share some ways I stay on track during this stressful period.
- Study guides
I like to review the topics by making summary study guides, where I take questions from the book or sometimes our teachers give us question sheets. And I write a short answer to all of them and go through them. Make the answers short.
- Flashcards
Another thing I like to use during review is flashcards. For example for medical English, where there are a lot of terms to memorize, I make flashcards and take them everywhere. And review them whenever I can. You can do them in all subjects. You can use question sheet and make flash cards for them as well.
- Hard things come first
After going through the questions, look where you have a hard time to memorize or understand, and study those aspects. Don’t just leave them. Spent time, watch a lecture on the topic or ask someone to explain it to you if needed. As we all know, usually on the exams those topics that were hard for us appear.
- Stay Hydrated
I know, you already hear this advice! But it is important, to stay hydrated. Your brain will function better, and you will be more productive.
- Don’t Forget about Rest
Studying is important, but you need the energy to write your exam as well. So take breaks between study sessions. Go take a walk, drink something or eat. Talk with friends. And then back to study.
- Find your productive place.
Find where you are the most productive, and spend your time there with your books and notes. Personally, for me it is the library, I don’t take my laptop there, only books and notes, & all the stationary I will need (highlighters, pencils, pens etc.) Others like to study in a cafe or at home. So just find your place. Don’t forget to turn off your phone off!
- Sleep
I can’t tell you the importance of the sleep. You need to be rested to do your best in the exam. So a good night sleep will be very handy. No studying on the exam day.
Good luck with your exams! You got it, don’t worry and believe in yourself😊
