Here we go again. Drug Wars changes some terms and reduced the reward. Do I like that? Of course not, because it halved my daily reward down to 0.594 Steem. But I’m not mad about it. I see where it comes from. The amount of Steem for the pool in Drug Wars is limited and bound to the amount the game is receiving from players upgrading stuff and some upvotes on the posts (Which will never be enough to sustain a high amount.).
So this step raises the ability of the game to run longterm without seeing hefty declining rewards in the short term. But the main problems from the money distribution are still the same.
But I think that the developers have some nice tricks up their sleeves to provide us with at least some Steem while playing the game. It might be not enough to gain a huge paid sum back, but at least something, so that player are rewarded.
I really hope, that every player understands that he has to get his money back in a short term or he will not be able to gain the whole sum back anytime soon.
For instance: A lvl 1 Cocina would cost you roughly 3.61 Steem. It is producing 12960 Drugs per day. The overall production per day at the time of writing this post is 235.66 million drugs. The daily prize for the drug production is 2391.702 Steem. A little bit of calculation later (Production/(Overall production+Production)*Pool) and you get 0.1315 Steem per day.
At this point you already need 28 days (without considering putting the drugs into the heist) just to get the money back from daily prizes. It will even take longer, because the reward is decreasing. Compare that to the beginning, where the cocina was paying itself off in just 2 to 3 days.
It is not an investment, it’s a game. It is paying real money based on virtual drugs, but it has never stated to give you more than you are spending on buildings.
I’m waiting now for my part for the 3D metal printing and the distillery. I really hope, I’m able to survive the upcoming sunday.
