I've been through air ports and planes many times, and it can be annoying stressful and uninspiring. Travelling over the sea be it on a ferry, a Yacht or a cruise ship is a great experience. It's slower, but far more laid back. Standing on a deck looking out into an open sea, alone, can really make you feel tiny in the world. Then, after the voyage, land is approached, and it really is a wonderful feeling sighting from a porthole or up on the deck. It's a real tangible sense of a voyage completed, and definitely worth experiencing if you have the oppurtunity to travel in this way.
I took this picture approaching port in Santander, Northern Spain on a wonderful day.
