It’s Friday already, and before I get started with my activities, I want to wish you all a wonderful day, full of positive energy, but above all, an excellent weekend—the kind you enjoy from the very first moment. Today I’m heading back to Sunsol Ecoland to repeat the same chlorination process we performed yesterday—a job I’d like to tell you about in a bit more detail, because it was an intense, productive experience and, as always, set against the beautiful landscapes of our beloved Margarita.
Just a few hours ago, we headed to Sunsol Ecoland after receiving a call from the quality manager. He informed us that they were experiencing some issues with the desalination plant and that it was necessary to chlorinate all the water, including the main tank, to ensure that the hotel’s services maintained the quality that guests deserve. Faced with such a situation, there was no time to waste.
We left home early, almost at sunrise, because we didn’t know how long it would take us to resolve everything. The weather in Margarita remains extremely stifling; the heat is so intense that even the air conditioners can’t keep up. Even so, the sky was clear and beautiful, with that brilliant blue that is so characteristic of the island. Thanks to that, I was able to take some beautiful photographs along the way—images I always like to save as a memento of each day.
Ya es viernes, y antes de comenzar con mis actividades quiero desearles una jornada maravillosa, llena de buenas energías, pero sobre todo un fin de semana excelente, de esos que se disfrutan desde el primer momento. Hoy me toca volver a Sunsol Ecoland para repetir el mismo clorado que realizamos ayer, un trabajo del cual quiero contarles con un poco más de detalle, porque fue una experiencia intensa, productiva y, como siempre, acompañada por los paisajes hermosos de nuestra querida Margarita.
Este día que recién culminó nos dirigimos a Sunsol Ecoland luego de recibir una llamada del gerente de calidad. Nos informó que estaban presentando algunos inconvenientes con la planta desalinizadora y que era necesario clorar toda el agua, incluyendo el tanque principal, para garantizar que los servicios del hotel se mantuvieran con la calidad que los huéspedes merecen. Ante una situación así, no había tiempo que perder.
Salimos temprano de casa, casi con el primer sol, porque no sabíamos cuánto tiempo nos tomaría resolver todo. El clima en Margarita continúa extremadamente sofocante; el calor es tan intenso que ni los aires acondicionados dan abasto. Aun así, el cielo estaba despejado y hermoso, con ese azul brillante que tanto caracteriza a la isla. Gracias a eso pude tomar unas fotografías preciosas durante el trayecto, imágenes que siempre me gusta guardar como recuerdo de cada jornada.
We took the Portachuelo road, passing through the picturesque villages of Santa Ana and Tacarigua. Every time we drive through there, I feel that the road has a special charm; the colorful houses, the people going about their daily routines, the trees lining the road… it all comes together to create a scene that always fills me with a sense of peace.
Tomamos la vía de Portachuelo, atravesando los pintorescos pueblos de Santa Ana y Tacarigua. Cada vez que pasamos por allí siento que el camino tiene un encanto especial; las casas coloridas, la gente en sus rutinas diarias, los árboles que bordean la carretera… todo se mezcla para crear una estampa que siempre me inspira tranquilidad.
When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by Carel, who, as always, welcomed us with that warm smile of hers that makes you feel right at home. Together with her, we toured the desalination plant to check the system’s status. It was there that we noticed one of the membranes wasn’t working at full capacity, which explained why, upon analyzing the water from the main tank, one of the readings wasn’t within the proper range. For that reason, we had to work two days in a row; the goal is for everything to function correctly and for the service to be impeccable.
Al llegar al hotel fuimos recibidos por Carel, quien como siempre nos saludó con esa sonrisa amable que la caracteriza y que hace que uno se sienta bienvenido de inmediato. Junto a ella hicimos un recorrido por la planta desalinizadora para verificar el estado del sistema. Fue allí donde notamos que una de las membranas no estaba trabajando al cien por ciento, lo que explicaba por qué, al analizar el agua del tanque principal, uno de los valores no estaba dentro del rango adecuado. Por esa razón era necesario trabajar dos días seguidos; la idea es que todo funcione correctamente y que el servicio sea impecable.
After completing all the checks and starting the chlorination process, we made all the necessary arrangements for our visit the following day. We always make sure every detail is taken care of, because that makes the work easier and ensures we can proceed without a hitch.
Before leaving, as is our custom, we take a moment to admire the scenery visible from this charming spot. From up here, the view is simply spectacular; mountains, sea, sky, and vegetation come together in a scene you never tire of. It’s a little gift the island gives us after each day’s work.
Después de realizar todas las comprobaciones y dejar el proceso de clorado en marcha, organizamos todo para nuestra visita del día siguiente. Siempre procuramos dejar cada detalle listo, porque eso facilita el trabajo y garantiza que podamos avanzar sin contratiempos.
Antes de retirarnos, como ya es costumbre, nos tomamos un momento para contemplar los paisajes que se aprecian desde este encantador lugar. Desde lo alto, la vista es simplemente espectacular; montañas, mar, cielo y vegetación se combinan en un cuadro que nunca cansa. Es un pequeño regalo que nos da la isla después de cada jornada.
Satisfied with our productive day, we headed home with the intention of getting plenty of rest so we could carry on with everything planned for this Friday. The work may be demanding, but it always leaves you with that deeply satisfying sense of a job well done.
