Tomorrow I’ll tell you how my Sunday went, but today I want to share with you how my work Saturday unfolded—though it was simple, it was nonetheless beautiful, productive, and full of little details that made the day special.
Our Saturday started early at home, like almost every other day. By seven in the morning, we were already feeding our birds, who wait for their food at that hour with admirable punctuality. It’s lovely to see how they’re on the lookout the moment they see us get up, as if they know their day is beginning. After leaving them with their food and fresh water, we sat down to have a leisurely breakfast, enjoying that little family moment before heading out to tackle our tasks.
That day’s work routine was at the Unik Hotel. The weather was great, with soft light that made everything look more beautiful. That allowed me to take excellent photos along the way, because when the sky cooperates, even the most ordinary paths become special.
Les deseo un lindo día a todos y, en especial, a todas las madres. A las que ya lo son, a las que están por serlo y a las que cuidan con amor incluso sin haber dado a luz, mis felicitaciones. Que este día esté lleno de momentos hermosos, de esos que se guardan en el corazón y se recuerdan con una sonrisa. Mañana les contaré cómo resultó mi domingo, pero hoy quiero compartirles cómo transcurrió mi sábado de trabajo, que aunque fue sencillo, no dejó de ser hermoso, productivo y lleno de pequeños detalles que hicieron la jornada especial.
Nuestro sábado comenzó temprano en casa, como casi todos. A las siete de la mañana ya estábamos dándoles de comer a nuestras aves, que a esa hora esperan su alimento con una puntualidad admirable. Es bonito ver cómo están pendientes apenas nos ven salir, como si supieran que empieza su día. Después de dejarlas con su comida y agua fresca, nos sentamos a desayunar con calma, disfrutando ese ratito familiar antes de salir a cumplir con nuestras tareas.
La rutina de trabajo de ese día era en el hotel Unik. El clima estaba genial, con una luz suave que hacía que todo se viera más bonito. Eso me permitió tomar excelentes fotografías durante el recorrido, porque cuando el cielo acompaña, hasta los caminos más cotidianos se vuelven especiales.
When we arrived at the hotel, we didn’t have to wait; the maintenance department was already there waiting for us. They had a question about the trench-mounted duplex filter, so the first thing we did was clear that up. Once that was resolved, we checked the levels and everything was in excellent condition. The work went so smoothly that we finished much earlier than usual, which is always appreciated.
Al llegar al hotel no tuvimos que esperar; el departamento de mantenimiento ya nos estaba aguardando. Tenían una duda relacionada con el filtro dúplex de trinchera, así que lo primero fue aclarar ese detalle. Una vez resuelto, verificamos los niveles y todo dio excelente. El trabajo fluyó tan bien que terminamos mucho más temprano de lo habitual, lo cual siempre se agradece.
Satisfied that we’d finished our errand, we were on our way home when we decided to stop at the Sambil shopping mall. The Río Market is inside, and we wanted to see if they had a brand of mayonnaise that our son loves. We’d heard they carried it there, so we took the opportunity to look for it.
Satisfechos por haber cumplido con nuestra labor, íbamos camino a casa cuando decidimos hacer una parada en el centro comercial Sambil. Dentro está el mercado Río y queríamos ver si tenían una mayonesa que le encanta a nuestro hijo. Nos habían dicho que allí la había, así que aprovechamos para buscarla.
While walking through the mall, we came across an orchid exhibition that was absolutely breathtaking. I was stunned by the variety of colors, shapes, and sizes. There was a yellow one with spots that took my breath away—so delicate and perfect that it looked as if it had been hand-painted.
Caminando por el centro comercial nos encontramos con una exposición de orquídeas que era un verdadero sueño. Me quedé anonadada al ver la diversidad de colores, formas y tamaños. Había una amarilla con pintas que me robó el aliento, tan delicada y perfecta que parecía pintada a mano.
After enjoying that little visual treat, we headed toward Río, but we couldn’t find any mayonnaise there either. Apparently, it was sold out everywhere, so we had to accept it and move on to the last task of the day. We had to go to the pet store to buy some vitamin-enriched food for our dog Frida. The vet recommended it as a supplement because she’s been experiencing a false pregnancy, and we need to keep her active, boost her diet, and encourage her to eat better.
Después de disfrutar ese pequeño regalo visual, seguimos hacia Río, pero tampoco conseguimos la mayonesa. Al parecer se ha terminado en todos lados, así que nos tocó resignarnos y continuar con la última tarea del día. Teníamos que ir a la agropecuaria a comprar un alimento con vitaminas para nuestra perrita Frida. El veterinario nos lo recomendó como complemento, porque ha tenido un embarazo psicológico y debemos mantenerla activa, reforzar su alimentación y animarla a comer mejor.
Luckily, we found the perfect food, and with that, we considered all the tasks we’d set out to do complete. We returned home with that wonderful feeling of having made the most of the day—of having worked, solved problems, walked, seen beautiful things, and taken care of those who depend on us.

Por suerte encontramos el alimento ideal y con eso dimos por cumplidas todas las tareas que nos habíamos propuesto. Regresamos a casa con esa sensación tan bonita de haber aprovechado el día, de haber trabajado, resuelto, caminado, visto cosas lindas y atendido a quienes dependen de nosotros.
