Hello dear friends of this beautiful community of THE WEEKEND, I am here today to tell you how entertaining and busy the weekend was at home. This weekend began early on Saturday morning planting some lilies to decorate a part of our front of the house, my husband and I did it very early so that they would not wither so much since the sun on the Island is strong, We put a lot of effort and enthusiasm into it. Around noon my father and his wife came to the house to visit us, this is something that I like very much because as I have explained in other publications I am an emigrant and they are the whole family that I have in this country, the rest is fine away in my beloved Cuba.
Well, they brought part of the cooked food, some exquisite fish balls called malacho baked with chili and tomato, it was a dish that my son tried for the first time and it fascinated him, my father really cooks very well, we accompany it with rice with vegetables and tasty green plantain tostones, although my dad is a Geophysical Engineer, in part of his youth, he worked in an inn and learned the trade of cook and really has a hand for spectacular cooking. Well, that they brought that plate was a great relief to me because the planting of the lilies had left me a little exhausted.
So between my son and my dad they accommodated and set the table when everything was ready we sat on the terrace which is the coolest place in our house. After we ate, we told stories and as always happens we fell into the memories of when my brothers and I were little and the pranks we used to do and that, as the youngest, they always discovered me every time I did something prank, besides i was very sickly and every so often for some reason they had to run with me to the doctor.
My dad is a very talkative man, despite being over 75 years old, he retains incredible vitality and a super broad oratory, he is very knowledgeable about various topics and has an exquisite memory and always has a topic of conversation or a story, so between stories and memories we spent the evening. It was very good to spend it with family.
Between cabbage and cabbage, as we Cubans say, that is, between stories and anecdotes, a rich, very strong coffee could not be missing, as we Cubans do, because here in Venezuela it is drunk much lighter, but we always make it a good red like in Cuba.
In the late afternoon my dad and his wife left and all that was left was to collect things and settle down to rest and happy for having had a different day and accompanied.
Well my dear friends here I leave you my weekend experience, I hope you see it and comment and that you also tell me what you did, see you.
