This little one had a "dance recital" today, and I put that in quotation marks, because I am not sure if the choreography they did can be considered dancing. She loved it though! And, you should have seen her face when I handed her the bunch of roses and she realized they really were for her.

It makes for a pretty good weekend!
Though tomorrow is a technical workday, as I will be heading down to Helsinki by train to have meetings and prepare for the upcoming Sales Event held from Monday to Wednesday. It will be a lot of work, but I am also looking forward to meeting a lot of people face to face, even though we have been collaborating for possibly years together already.
There are two Hive related problems though. Firstly, it is going to be the normal challenge I have during these kinds of travels which is, finding time to create a post. In this regard, I am hopeful I will have a few hours to myself in the evenings or perhaps if feeling sporty, even in the mornings to write something. It really is an effective way to clear the head and develop ideas and I use it as a reflective process, much like meditation.
The second "problem" is this...
I haven't even started playing yet!!!
There are less than 10 days left in the current season and all of my cards are rented, so I can't even get started on the progress up the ladder. Luckily I scraped into Champion 2 last season, so I will be starting from Diamond 2 when I start, but it is going to be cutting it very close, as when I get back on Wednesday evening, there will only be around five days to progress through. I am confident of getting into Champion 3, but I am unsure if I will be able to make it into C2 this season.
Luckily, Thursday is a weird mid-week public holiday in Finland, so I might be able to play a bit longer Wednesday night and I might not be expected to get in too early on Friday either.
Work gets in the way of life too often
Oh, this isn't really life, is it?
Well, that depends on how you look at it.
Yeah, this is a game, but it is also holds a significant amount of investment for me, so I hope it does well. While me playing doesn't have much affect on my investment amount or value directly, it does better "attach" me to the game, especially since I am still relatively new to it, compared to the old timers.
It hasn't even been a year yet.
And this is the other thing with writing for Hive too, as while there are many reasons to do it, one of the main ones is staying connected to the community, the blockchain and the changing ecosystem. This is important to me in an "invest into what you know" kind of scenario. In my opinion, Hive is a unique ecosystem in so many respects, because while it has the ability for investment opportunity, the way it enables it is through practical and direct interaction. On Hive, investors are users, users investors.
As unlikely as some people might think it, if Hive happens to get significant market attention for usage, it is going to shift the entire ecosystem incredibly. And, it doesn't take much. There are billions being pushed around some chains with very low usage and if even fractions of that start to trickle in, everything changes. And, it doesn't just change the reward values as price increases, it amplifies the development initiatives and brings in more infrastructure growth, with ultimately drives further usage and interaction.
This is also a challenge for Hive, because without a lot of users, there are far too many possibilities and any new opportunity, will find it hard to garner enough support for viability. There is a reason that most social platforms focus their attention on particular usecases and communities and then integrate the usecases of others, rather than doing them all themselves. However, the world of information platforms are changing too and Hive might find itself well positioned to capture users as it changes, making everyone here who holds, relatively well off from where they might be today.
That is what I am hoping for.
Sure, I want that financial "payday" at some point that makes the effort worth it, but I also want it to come through activity that will support a better world for my daughter, and all those little kids on the stage today. The way things are currently going, the opportunities for their lives are decreasing and becoming controlled, limited - they are having a ceiling placed on them as to what they are allowed to do, say and earn.
I believe we can set a better stage for them.
This all might be a game for many, but that doesn't mean there aren't high stakes in play and large costs for failure.
A bunch of roses gets a sweet smile, but cut flowers don't last long. We need to grow a garden and teach the responsibility of attending to it. It is hard, when we as adults, can't even organize ourselves to function together and fight over the ground, rather than plant seeds.
Well... those thoughts can continue on another day.
