Ernestina Morrisey Tall Ship details
Good Morning all I hope allis well with you
I have shared a couple of post of the tall Ship the Ernestina Morrisey when I saw it docked in the port here in New Bedford, a beautiful grand old ship which as I understand it was recently returned to surface after being in dry dock for quite a while for repairs and restoration and I must say to e it looks like they did a great job it looks in such great condition.

The schooner Ernestina-Morrissey, was built in 1894 at the James and Tarr Shipyard for the Gloucester fishing fleet. Under Captain Bob Bartlett she sailed to within 600 miles of the North Pole,
Which I always think is pretty impressive back in those days in such a ship and without modern technology.
It was later brought immigrants to the U.S. under the power of sail. Returned to the US in 1982 as a gift from the newly independent Cape Verdean people, she sailed as an educator until 2005.
She is primarily docked in New Bedford I believe but is currently in Texas for a Tall ships event
I have no idea what this little wooden box holds but it caught my eye, looking at the little white things by it, which look similar to GPS equipment on masts I wonder if that is what it houses.

OF course one other thing that caught my eye is the ropes and pulleys so I got a few shots of those
