I do love when a city embraces art, and to be h9nest when I retired, stopped working in NYC ( which has so much art) and moved here to new Bedford, i was not expecting to see much art here, but I have bene pleasantly surprised to find a lot of groups supporting art here.
This piece and events around it are part of a LovetheAve initiative to bring the Acushnet Ave into a better state and draw in more visitors and is supported by the following groups MassDevelopment #TDI, Community Economic Development Center, New Bedford Creative.
Now you may wonder how I find out about these art pieces, initially when I moved here it was just luck if I happened to drive by and see it, but of recent that has changed a little.
Wherever i live I try to find the beauty in the area get out and explore take photos and share them in local groups on Farcebook and here I felt it was even more important to do so, as many people here are critical of the city, and before moving here I got the impression it was a not very safe place in someways, but we moved here anywhere to be close to family, and hey in my travels I have lived in some really rough places honestly it did not seem that bad to me.
Well people seem to appreciate that I am highlighting the good side of the city and occasional someone may message me to ask if I can take photos of this or that, and in this case to tell me about a new Art installation.

And thats how I found out about this piece, a group called 3rd Eye Unlimited a community youth support group that hosts various events with music and dance for the youth community messaged me to tell be about it before it was unveiled, they are also part of organizing 5 weekly events at this little park on Wednesdays, where locks and paint/markers are provided so people can write message son them and add them to the ropes on the sculpture
