How Important Will University Education Be in 20 Years?
Despite a handful of university degrees I consider myself mostly self educated. I still enjoy living near and hanging out on campuses, lurking in libraries, hacking my own experiments and binging on obscure journals online.

I did learn things in college, especially while I was in law school. Much of that wasn't classroom learning. The university associations I've been lucky enough to have granted access to resources that were rare and expensive at the time. It may be that is the main role of institutional higher learning.
But education ― access to knowledge and skills, in particular ― is changing rapidly. Information has never been as accessible as it is today. Can one now teach oneself all the skills one needs to know. Or will it be so soon?
