Among the plans we made in the new place is to have a small store just like in our old house. However, we will need more budget to transform the garage into a store, so we decided to temporarily display our items (mostly from the old rolling store in our temporary house) in our living room.
We don't have much going on in the living room because we lost our sofa, TV, coffee table, and other items in the flood. So, why not make use of the space to display our items temporarily until we can save money to repurpose the garage into a store?
And since we don't have a visible store, we need to put up a sign that tells people (our neighbors) that we are selling something in the house.
We have this old plywood already painted in white. It was attached to the wall of our old store. We took it out and brought it here because we can still use it. My father washed the mud off, and cut it before I started with my part.
✨
I lightly sketched the design using a pencil. Our store's name is a combination of our fur babies' names, Max and Arashi. We call it MaxShi's Sari-Sari Store. In the Philippines, a sari-sari store is a small neighborhood store selling a variety of goods. You can think of it like a mini convenience store.
✨
I mixed in some paint (yellow, red, black and white) to achieve certain shades to color my drawing. I started with Max, our Golden Retriever.
✨
Then, I painted Arashi, our cutie toy poodle on the other side.
Aren't they cute? hahaha Max and Arashi are both so adorable, so it was fun painting them... Now, let's write the store's name!
✨
And I'm done!!!
All that's left is to put it up on the side of the house for the passersby to see.
✨
Of course, my father did it. hahaha I just helped him by making sure the ladder was stable while he was putting the sign up.
And guess what? The sign was pretty effective! Some kids came to our house soon to buy some snacks!
This is how our temporary store is set up in the living room looks. The house might be farther from neighbors compared to our rolling store in the temporary house, but we got more customers on our first day.
Most of the sari-sari stores in the area are by the road, so people living farther back would have to walk for a few minutes to buy something. And since we opened a store, they can easily get what they need without having to walk to the roadside stores.
Once we're able to save money and repurpose the garage into a store, we'll be putting up the same sign there. Well, at least, there's not much need to advertise our stores since customers already know of our store's existence.
In the near future, we're going to add more products. It's also a good thing for my family. We don't have to worry about our daily needs, and we get extra income as well.
Anyway, what do you think about the store sign I made? I hope you all like it.
I'll end this post here. Thanks for checking and I'll see you around! (^^,)/
