Over the last six months, I've been experimenting with a trailcam in the local mountains. I am an avid explorer, including off trail wilderness areas. I've had some success, but recently found the holy grail at a watering hole where a wide variety of animals were photographed. Cougars (mountain lions) are the holy grail of shots because they are so elusive. She looks like she might be hunting in this photo, and exits upstream to the right. The placement of the camera was just off a maintained trail about half a mile from the road.
