Hello Hello Hivers and especially to fellow fans of our awesome feathered friends.
I was having a chat today with and she was waiting to see some more pictures of the swans from my last walk to Raith Lake. I had to cut short my post as it was getting too long! Birthday Shenanigans (part 1) and the wee harem was the post in question.
However I did remember that the wonderful had posted Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 83 - UPDATE
So if you know me, then you know I love to make stories around my bird pictures, and this would be a double whammy!
Not only would Eliana get to see some swans (and cygnets at that) but this post will be my entry for #SMaP Show Me A Photo Contest Round 83!
Don't you just love a win-win situation!
I know I do, so let's get preening!
Aha, dopey me forget to say what the Contest was all about 🤣🤣🤣
We are required to SHOW ME A PICTURE OF ~ PREENING BIRD
First up we are going back to the summer of last year in Beveridge Park in Kirkcaldy.
We had a pair of mute swans there, whom I called Stevie and Susie swan.
They had six children on cygnets. I called them the pies...
Meanwhile this wee one was looking around seeing if the coast was clear ...
The pie children I named
Cutie(pie)
Mud(pie)
Coo(pie Coo being Scottish for Cow!)
Blueberry(pie)
Blackberry(pie)
Strawberry(pie)
It was clear so as per the post title, blueberry pie went in for a wee preen here!
If you look at position of the moorhen or the the last picture and this one, you can see that blueberry pie went in for a deep preen, and these are not identical pictures!
Fast forward to this summer, and Blackberry Pie along with his parents and three siblings relocated to Raith Lake.
Interestingly though, three of the siblings including Blackberry are based at one end of the Lake whilst the parents and Cutie Pie are at the other end!
Back to the title and this is Blackberry Pie have a wee preen there!
Okay top part done, now what about the bottom half he said!
Oh yes, this needs a preening!
The purpose of the post was to enter a picture of a preening bird. This is my entry 👇👇👇
Who needs toilet paper when you are finished!!!
Ah much better, all preened and cleaned!
Some of you know that I love the swan family, but there have been changes in the family dynamics since last year.
Strawberrypie and her brother mudpie have stayed at Beveridge Park, whilst Mr and Mrs Swan have relocated a mile away to a larger body of water in a more remote location at Raith Park, and you can see how they are getting on in Meet the Swan family of Raith Lake ~ Susie Stevie and Blueberry Pie!.
I hope that you have enjoyed seeing Blackberry Pie preening himself in two different loactions in Kirkcaldy Scotland and thank you for visiting.
All images and ramblings are from me, the mad Scotsman @TengoLoTodo unless otherwise stated.
