Hello Hello Hivians
Saturday on Hive means The Weekly BeerSaturday Challenge and this is week 362!
Seriously good going and thanks for doing this and having the BEER community.
It is a whole bunch of fun, so check out The #BeerSaturday Challenge - Week 362
Let's go drinking 🍻
This is all happened on Thursday, I had got an email earlier this week about a side hustle I do from time to time.
Mrs T's last work day before we go on holiday was Thursday so I had arranged to get some free food and free beer for Thurday.
I would meet her in town and we would head to the pub.
All fine and dandy. I headed towards the bus station where I arranged to meet her after going to the bank and getting a few bits and bobs.
I was on my phone walking into town and it was raining. Fluff it thought I, after I listened to a couple of voice notes on WhatsApp I sent a message then put phone in my backback.
Once I was in town on the High St I got money from the ATM and went to see the time on my phone.
Wtf ... it was error and basically dead!
I could not get it started could not even get it to factory reset...
Ah fluff it, I did not want to be late so went to the bus station. I stood at the entrance and then saw one bus that Mrs T gets if her normal is late.
Then I saw her normal bus, no Mrs T on it. Oh fluff now what, I never saw her in the Station or at any of the stands... So I walk along the High St and into the pub ... No Mrs T!
Now I was wet as I had forgotten my umbrella... Back to the Station I went ...
Lo and behold who did I see with steam coming out of her ears ....
I was calling and calling you and about to go home!
After explaining what happened on the way to the pub we did have a good old laugh!
Here I was back again!
As you can see the pub is called The Robert Nairn and it is part of the Wetherspoon's Chain of pubs.
So called summer, this was not a warm day, it had been raining and so nobody was sitting outside!
If I hadn't had to take pictures for the side hustle, I would have had my beer and food already, but I had to have pictures and Mrs T had the camera!
First things first ~ THE BEER
We are required to order a pint of Cornona, check it comes in the branded glass with a wedge of lime on the rim
So yes it passed!
The other drink as you can see is a Leffe and yes it is meant to be in a branded glass as well!
I must admit I am partial to a Leffe, it feels quite light and has a wee kick to it!
So those were the beers, but what about the food!
Me after all that walking back and forth in fluffing rain was fluffing famished so I opted for a large mixed grill!
There seemed to be meats buried under meats!
The onion rings were spot on, and I chose the healthy option of a baked potato! Darn glad I did, it was all cooked to perfection...
Mrs T was in the mood for chicken, and opted for a wee chicken fillets burger...
Now being American she does love her chicken wings and these did not disappoint with a lovely dark flavoured crispy skin.
When it comes to cheap pub food and cheap drinks you cannot beat a Wetherspoons and when the chef on duty is in a good mood, the food really is very good.
This was perfect.
Mrs T is not a big drinker and rarely has a beer, so after half a pint and all the food had been demolished it was over to me for the remainder!
Empty plates and empty glasses! 10/10 from me!
This is #BeerSaturday week and I would like to invite to write a post in any language about beer with at least 3 pictures.
Thanks for visiting and enjoy the rest of your day!
All images and ramblings are from me, the mad Scotsman TengoLoTodo Photos taken with Mrs T's smartphone.
