Today my wife wanted to visit the island of Tabarka in Spain. Me? Didn't really care and would rather stay at the hotel and sleep. But I've long since learned some fights aren't worth it and this is one of them.
It started by walking to the port where the get leaves from. That is about 30 minutes of walking. The streets were really quiet today. It seems that the police were out keeping cars off the road and likely because there was a triathlon going on today. Which is word because they had one yesterday.
Anyways it is an hour long trip to the island and it was a nice ferry but the wind made it a bit cold.
And after the trip we eventually landed on the island.
Tabarca
On the island we did a lot of walking. There were pretty much three parts to the island.
- The boat launch
- The town side and
- The nature side.
We started on the nature side.
Now on the nature side the wildlife consisted of two different types of wildlife
The snails. Yuck.
And the seagulls
Other than that it was obvious that they tried to grow crops as there were traces of wheat. There was also a graveyard, and military outpost.
But it was the flowers that I thought are more beautiful.
By the end of that I was getting tired because of minutes sleep last night and no rest from the Mediterranean heat
But we still had the town to look through.
Most of it was tourist date of dinner and kitsch.
However there was also an old church and a wall which made it has more interesting historically.
And we walked up and down every street
My wife got ice cream but I resisted and just drank a coca I brought from the hotel.
Then it was time to wait for the ferry back to alicante. I was hot, tired and my ankle was sore. But I had 13k steps and time to kill so it was a great time to post. Not perfect because I'll be doing more steps after the get ride back to Alicante so I could make the number bigger by another 4k steps or so... But...
I think thats enough for today :)
