I've been away from the keyboard doing family stuff for the holidays, so I promise to get back to those black and white photos later this week. But for now I wanted to share a little taste of winter in Greece with you.
So many people I talk to who have never been to Greece (or have only been here in the summer) have this vision in their head of greece being nothing more than islands and beach time, or little villages with white and blue houses and small winding streets. Of warm weather and long, leisurely outdoor dinners. And yes, we have those things...and they are all a wonderful part of this amazing country. But we also have so much more than that. We have mountains and forests and even jungles. And yes, sometimes we even have snow. In fact, there are even a few ski resorts in Greece. So I wanted to share some of the beauty of Greece that is rarely seen in travel magazines.
This past weekend we had our first snow in the mountains surrounding Athens. Parnitha mountain turned into a beautiful winter wonderland. We took a drive up the mountain to enjoy view yesterday, so here are a few pictures for you.
