To bring you up to speed, I’d like to start by sharing the story of this adventure: Last Saturday, April 25, we attended a veterinary health day organized by “Misión Nevado Zulia” and the “Golden Pets” store, from which, by the way, we received a direct invitation to attend (we’re so grateful to you!).

The owner of this store knows that I have kittens at home and that we also care for community kittens, and since, unfortunately, there is a health issue regarding rabies in the state, it is essential that everyone, without exception, keep their vaccinations up to date.

Para ponernos al día, quiero comenzar compartiendo el recorrido de esta aventura: El pasado sábado 25 de Abril asistimos a una jornada de atención veterinaria organizada por "Misión Nevado Zulia" y la tienda "Golden Pets" de la que por cierto recibimos una invitación directa para asistir (¡super agradecidos contigo!).

La dueña de esta tienda sabe que tengo gatitos en casa y que también contamos con gatitos comunitarios, y como lamentablemente en el estado hay un problema de salud respecto a la rabia pues es menester que todos sin excepción tengan sus vacunas al día.

The event started at 9 a.m., so to make sure we got there on time, we woke up at 6 a.m., and by around 7:30 a.m. I was already putting the kittens in their carriers and crates. We had planned to bring four community cats, but we only managed to catch two, so at the last minute we decided to bring my kitten, Apolo.

La actividad comenzaba a las 9 am así que para llegar a tiempo, nos despertamos a las 6 am, y a eso de las 7:30 am ya estaba guardando a los gatitos en las cestas y kennels. Teníamos planeado llevar 4 gatos comunitarios, pero solo logramos atrapar 2, y a ultima hora decidimos llevar a mi gatito Apolo.

But even though we arrived at the site really early, we had to wait several hours to be seen. The reason was that there were a lot of dogs there, and they were all clustered very close to the veterinary care area. I knew our kittens would get very upset, so we waited for the lines to become a little more organized, because at some point the situation got a bit chaotic.

But it wasn’t the fault of the veterinary staff or the event organizers; there are simply people who don’t know how to respect others’ space, and especially the dog owners weren’t respecting the kittens’ space when it was their turn to be seen. And as I expected, by the time our turn came, our three kittens were pretty stressed out 😿

Pero a pesar de que llegamos al sitio súper temprano, tuvimos que esperar varias horas para poder ser atendidos, la razón es que había muchos perros en el lugar y todos estaban agrupados muy cerca del área de atención veterinaria, sabía que nuestros gatitos se alterarían mucho y esperamos a que las filas de espera se organizaran un poco mejor, porque en algún punto el ambiente se volvió un poco desorganizado.

Pero no fue culpa del personal veterinario ni de los organizadores de la actividad, simplemente hay personas que no saben respetar el espacio de otras y especialmente los dueños de los perros no respetaban el espacio de los gatitos cuando era su turno de ser atendidos. Y como suponía, cuando llegó nuestro turno nuestros 3 gatitos estaban bastante alterados 😿

Overall, it was a fun day, though a bit stressful because it’s always a little nerve-wracking to take the kittens out and travel across town, but everything went really well:

There was a staff member who I think specializes in handling stressed-out kittens, and thanks to this person, Blanquita, Pesto, and Apolo were able to get their shots. Thank you so much, friend. I didn’t get a chance to ask your name, but seriously, thank you so much for your help 🥹 💞

En términos generales fue un día divertido, algo estresante porque siempre es un poco tenso sacar a los gatitos y viajar al otro lado de la ciudad, pero todo salió muy bien:

Hubo un miembro del personal que creo esta especializado en manipular gatitos estresados y gracias a esta persona Blanquita, Pesto y Apolo pudieron recibir sus vacunas. Muchas gracias amigo, no pude preguntar tu nombre pero enserio muchas gracias por tu ayuda 🥹 💞

My personal opinion: The veterinary care was great! The staff who organized the event were very attentive and, above all, very patient, so I can confidently recommend that you attend these low-cost veterinary care and vaccination events if you live in Venezuela and are looking for a safe alternative to private clinics or veterinary care.

In about two weeks, there’s another Misión Nevado event closer to where we live, and I plan to attend; I hope this information is helpful to you, and please keep in mind that there are free options in the country provided by qualified professionals so your pets can receive this very important vaccine.

Mi opinión personal: ¡La atención veterinaria fue buena!, el personal que organizó la actividad fue muy atento y sobre todo muy paciente, así que puedo recomendarte que asistas con confianza a estas jornadas de atención veterinaria y vacunación a bajo costo si resides en Venezuela y estas en busca de una alternativa segura a las clínicas o atención veterinaria privada.

Dentro de 2 semanas aproximadamente hay otra actividad de Misión Nevado en un lugar más cercano a nosotros y pienso asistir; espero esta información te sea útil y tengas presente que en el país hay alternativas gratuitas de la mano de profesionales calificados para que tus mascotas cuenten con esta vacuna tan importante.
