As a young child you have dreams but those dreams mostly include becoming a ballerina, super hero, doctor, fire fighter, or the occasional dream of wanting to become a barbie. Which yes I had that dream. As you grow older though those dreams change. You learn more about the world, gain new knowledge and your mind is opened to a whole new world. My dreams stopped being "I want to be..." and started being "I want to do..." My dreams turned in to I want to help people, I want to experience new cultures, meet new people.
I have always had a inclination to travel mostly due to the traveling I experienced as a child. Traveling across the US with my parents going state to state. I learned more about the world, I wasn't sheltered like most kids I knew in the small town my family eventually settled in. Those kids had never been outside of small town Pennsylvania, they lived there as did the 4 generations before them; never have seen the world, never having been to another state even and they were okay with that. How could you be okay with that? The world is so large, so much to been seen, so many experiences awaiting.
I knew I was different I set my sights on traveling, going somewhere I've never been, learning about something that would take me all around the world was my dream. So naturally years later in my Junior year of High School when the opportunity came to apply for University I found the furthest most distant place to go to University from where I lived; The University of Sydney. The dream I had was coming true, I was able to land a spot in the Class of 2019 at The University of Sydney studying Immunobiology.
