Last season was a very big blow for Manchester United players and Manchester fans all over the world because we finished on the Premier League table in 15th position. When the game started last season, I was happy to be a Manchester United fan, but when the game was going and getting to some matches in the league, United decided to sack their manager, Erik ten Hag, because they felt he could not do what they wanted him to do despite signing a series of players from different teams, but he could not bring out the good in them. After a series of trials that were given to him, he had to get paid off and then leave for another team to allow another manager to try.
After some time that Eric had left the team, the board brought up an idea to bring in Ruben amorim from Sporting Football Club. He has a good record from sporting, and he has helped them win a trophy after about 13 years of them not having any trophy. Before he agreed to come to United, he stated the things he would do as a manager and then left Sporting FC, but then it was still towards the end of the season, and the United board could not wait for him to finish with his team because they felt they needed him more.
When he came to Manchester United, Manchester United finished in the 15th position on the table, but we feel it was a normal thing because the season had ended, but the new season started with Amorim's playing style, which is the 3-5-2 formation. But the issue I think the board had with amorim was not just because of his low block formation, but because he was more like giving orders to the board. Also, his formation was not really helping the playing, and they hardly win matches. But the playing style helped to some extent, but the board and the players wanted more and more, and then he got sacked.
The board could not cope with getting a manager and sacking them always. Then what can they do? They thought of getting an interim manager that can work for the rest of the season, and they can just lay him off without paying huge money when they want him to go if he could not perform. Then they came up with the idea of getting Michael Carrick, who was formerly a Manchester United player and a midfielder. Also, he has been the head coach of the under-18 academy of Manchester United, and he has had a good record of wins since he took the job.
Now he has been on the senior team and has played 14 games with 10 wins, a draw, and two losses. Well, to me, this is a good try because it takes a lot of strength and effort to be a united head coach in this chaotic period because you have to work so hard to make sure you win, and all the fans and the players want, including the board, is just to make sure they win. Now, Manchester United are sitting in the third position and hoping to get back to the Champions League competition by next season with their win today against Liverpool fc. Let's hop and see if Carrick will be the man for the job for the next season.
