"Not everyone is going to love you. Most people don't even love themselves"Â
Would you agree??
From what I've seen, there are two types of criticism.Â
- Â Constructive criticism that's intended to try to make you a better person. Â
- Â And just flat out negative criticism.Â
Then I would also add a third category, which is no criticism as all.Â
The best thing you want to hear is constructive criticism.Â
This is something that even your closest friends will not want to give you because they fear it might offend you.Â
In fact, you might even be afraid to ask for it because your scared of what you might hear. Â
But it would greatly benefit anyone to receive constructive criticism, however uncomfortable it might be for you or the person on the other end.Â
While it might seem painful in the micro, it will build you up in the macro.Â
Now let's talk about the other kind of criticism.Â
Negative criticism. The whiners. The complainers. The haters. 👎Â
There are people out there with low self esteem. It makes them feel better to try to bring you down.
Don't let them. Â Instead have empathy for them, they envy you! And there's nothing that will piss them off more.Â
But really, do you know anyone successful who hasn't had to deal with haters?? Heck, even Mother Teresa had haters.Â
And then the other kind of criticism. None at all.Â
In my experience, it’s better to be loved and hated at the same time than ignored all together.  It doesn't mean go out and try to make people love you or hate you. But if your not getting a response, maybe your not being bold enough?Â
