I didn’t think I’d get too many steps in today, as it’s the weekly trip to the family home place, where I’ll spend a few days and visit mom in the nursing home each day while I’m there.
As always though, there were a few chores to do and errands to run before I could get started on the 250km journey, so I picked up some steps doing those.
A little over halfway through the journey, I frequently stop to get some groceries and stretch my legs. I’ve generally been behind the wheel for about 2 hours by then, so the break is probably needed for concentration as well.
Sometimes, the gps of life gives you crappy directions and sends you down a …
dark road.
When I arrived, the weather was lovely so I got stuck into a few hours of garden tidy up, under the watchful eyes of my fluffy supervisor, who was of course distracted by something else 😂
I’m currently clearing a patch of the garden that has been used as a dumping area for all leaves, pulled weeds, and grass clippings, for more than 40 years. On top of that, literally, are all the branches from a couple of evergreen trees that came down in storms during January of last year.
I’m not exactly sure what I’m going to do with the space when it’s cleared; I have a couple of ideas, but I think it’s best to get it cleared first, so I can see what I’m working with.
There’s still a LOT more work to do!
