In a recent Medium post by Hong Kong independent journalist Jackson Wong, the reliability and safety of KuCoin as an exchange was called into question. Heres the article - https://www.newsbtc.com/2018/08/12/major-crypto-exchange-kucoin-hong-kong-offices-are-empty/
This is due to the fact that this location was supposed to be one of Kucoin's offices, however journalist went there and were told that Kucoin has never been involved in any way with that location. Weird I know! There were also no signs to be found on the outside or inside resembling Kucoin's involvement.
Kucoin released an official announcement stating that this location was just a mailing address for one of their many subsidiary companies. The official announcement is here - https://news.kucoin.com/en/the-clarifications-on-kucoin-office-locations/
So ok maybe this was just all a misunderstanding, however Kucoin's Twitter account now says the account is temporarily restricted. Which is quite strange especially when Twitter has recently been cracking down on crypto scam accounts. So is it a scam? To tell you the truth I have no clue as we do not have enough evidence, however I can tell you it is better to be safe than sorry, so get your money out!
Also me personally I have enjoyed every one of my experiences using Kucoin since it is a fast, clean looking and low fee exchange that offers many great cryptos but if is an exit scam none of this matters so always be weary.
