Hiya friends! And most bodacious Steemians i haven’t met yet.
Every couple of months lately i have been grabbing Charlie up and heading over to my buddy’s house for a sleepover. My buddy has a son also, and though the boys are several years apart they get along really well and get to gorge on “screen-time” when we all hang out: the lads play games and me and my pal Morris chef it up in the kitchen and smoke Bob Marley joints.
Check out his stunning view from the roof deck:
It’s a sweet house and just blocks away from the Jericho Sailing Centre. On friday night we went down to the pier that extends out from right beside the Centre and whipped out a fishing rod and joined the fun:
There were a lot of people fishing and a LOT of herring being caught!
Charlie was digging it!!!
Even when we caught one herring and then used it for bait...we were fishing for shark!
Here’s Charlie and Morris:
And check out the whale they caught!!! (Okay, okay, it’s a mudshark) but pretty awesome to haul this prehistoric monster out of the briny deep while everyone crowded around to look.
We threw it back of course, but had a fun time goofing around on the dock, and it was cool to take Charlie out for his first fishing trip. On Saturday we all went swimming up at UBC and then returned to the Sailing Centre for fish and chips — one of the best patios in town (although not the best fish n chips 😜
Carlito even got an ice-cream cone ‘cause he’s such a good boy! 😍😍😍
And although he didn’t camp out with us overnight, i’d be remiss if i didn’t include some pics of mini-me 🤩
I tell yaz friends, being a dad is a lot of work and requires a huge amount of attention, but the rewards run deep! Seeing my boys with smiles on there faces and hearing their laughter is the very best thing ever!!!
I think the whole fam is going to Kits Pool today — the largest outdoor pool in N. America — so i should have some more Van-Glam photos and some cute kiddy-winks pics.
I hope yer all having a great Pirate Sunday out there!
