Ever feel like life is a Juggling Act? There are always multiple balls up in the air, a couple in hand, and you just figure out how to keep up with them all and maybe 1 more gets tossed in. It takes time but you adapt and learn how to handle that extra ball and keep moving along without dropping any of the balls.
Then one day you say to your Spouse "Why don't you go to Hawaii with your Sister's, Mom, and Aunt for 2 weeks" and you realize that your spouse had her own juggling act going on and all those balls are now tossed your way.
We are now 6 days into my Wife's vacation and the fridge is empty, laundry isn't done, and the living room looks like a tornado passed by. Now the kids have made it to all their activities without fail and I've managed to do most my work plus keep up on the Pay If Forward Contest entries so not doing to bad. Plus if I'm being honest the living room only looks like that because we made shields tonight and it was an hour past bedtime when we finished so didn't make them clean up....oh crap, an hour past bedtime...yup messed that up because I never pay attention to the time.
Kauai: Why did the Chicken Cross the Road?
So my Wife is in Kauai and the first thing she sends us is a picture of chickens right outside the door at the airport, in the rental car office, outside the office, and just about everywhere. Make me think of and some of her photos from Mexico with random dogs everywhere. As life goes on here she is off on an island with perfect weather riding ATV's, going to a luau, taking a helecoptor tour, and laughing about chickens running around everywhere.
Here I am trying to figure out how to keep juggling all these balls when my right hand girl is off exploring a tropical paradise. Hope she has a blast, this trip is for her 40th and her Mom's 60th birthdays. They deserve a nice trip like this even if it means I need to figure out how to step up my Juggling game.
Distance Makes the Heart Grow Founder
This saying was one that my Wife and I understood as we have been apart for almost a year early in our relationship. But since then, 20+ years have passed with us never really spending more then a couple days apart. Funny how when you see each other all day everyday you don't notice all of the little things the other person does to help keep your world running smoothly. Seriously my Daughter ran out of underwear...what kind of parent allows this to happen?
My heart has been and will always be hers, but right now I am appreciating her a lot more. Hope our time apart makes her miss what I do too. Know she was missing me when this little lizard freaked her out yesterday.
Feeding the kids
So the last 2 nights the kids have complained about eating PB&J again. Sorry, but warned them we are eating on the cheap while Mom is in Hawaii. It's really expensive to eat over there and figure we need to offset that expense at home. So while I'm listening to them complain about this we get a photo of her lunch (5 hour time difference)
Yeah we might have to eat out tomorrow or I'll actually get to the grocery store and make something better then Mac N Cheese, frozen pizza, or Sandwiches. Guess after what will be a week they probably deserve something better then that.
Sorry guess I deleted the wild chicken text which had the photos. It's pretty funny to see and will be part of a future post for sure.
So if you notice I'm a little slow to respond or miss a time slot for an expected post you know why. One of the many balls I'm juggling somehow made it to the ground. I'll pick it up soon enough and promise not to forget about the things I need to get done....just might be a little delayed.
Oh and if you ever hear me talking about sending my Wife on a tropical paradise vacation without me again please for the love of god remind that I decided it was a really stupid idea...oh how I wish I was there right now.
