Hi! I'm Gonzalo, but everyone calls me Gonz. I am a new Steemian and it feels good ... it feels uncluttered. Im excited to be here! I instinctively liked the sharing platform and not only for its user friendliness. The platform just speaks to me and, hey, if it disrupts the system ... I'm all in. Anyhow, I will try to make this introduction concise as I'm sure you will learn more about me as long as our journey together allows it.
I'm a Certified Life Coach. My expertise as a coach relies in personal development, dating and relationships. I lived in Los Angeles for 12 years but recently moved back home to Texas for work and to be closer to my family. I am a people person and I am fortunate to have friends and acquaintances scattered from coast to coast and from sea to shining sea.
I'm a biker at heart and currently ride a Triumph Bonneville....I don't think I ever dealt with traffic in Los Angeles, or anywhere for that matter. Sometimes it's too hot to ride in Texas, but I refuse to get a car. I'll figure something out.
Grilling, smoking and cooking awesome food is a hobby of mine. I am a grillmaster and a TV BBQ champ (Smoked w Myron Mixon). It was a 16 hour ordeal, but we walked away with the trophy and a big check.

Brownsville is the southernest tip of Texas, bordering the city of Matamoros, Mexico. I was born in the former and raised on both sides of the border. The food in this region is amazing, and for the most part, people are pretty cool. It's always been a rough and tumble kinda town, growing up you had to know how to use your dukes. I consider growing up here in the 80's and 90's a unique and rewarding experience for a kid.
After highschool in the states, I went to college in Monterrey, Mexico to study law ... though I mostly partied. I spent about 10 years in that beautiful city and like anyone in college, the adventures were amazing. After Mexico I spent a few years in Austin, Texas before finally heading out to the city of angels. I love L.A. very much and I hope to return someday. It's a city where uniqueness and creativity is valued, and I dig that. Hollywood is mostly made up of people who just don't give a fuck about the trivialities of life. I enjoyed experiencing different cultures, trying different foods and cooking for friends.
As a hobby, I dabble in music and film. I used to have a blog named Festival Chaser and it took me to 15 music, film and food festivals in 2011 alone. I've gotten to meet some great and interesting people along the way like Ron Howard, Fitz & The Tantrums, and Jeff Ross.
I wish everyone health and fortune. It's a pleasure to be part of this community and I sincerely hope to connect with many wonderful people.
See ya around,
Gonz
