A post for Monday I am writing on Tuesday. Well starting it anyway. It might just take me six days to figure out what to write about Nostalgia. Nostalgia, that is the word for the Buddy Up word of the week this week. Nostalgia definition. The state of being homesick : HOMESICKNESS

A wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for return to or of some past period or irrecoverable condition

also : something that evokes nostalgia

The memory of times past, brought to life by the mind. Leaving a feeling of longing to be there once again. If I could be 22 again. The revival of the music of your youth. Notalgia

Nostalgia can be a past or present event in life. A time gone past you wish was still here. A time of now and a different place to be. Nostalgia is a personal thing. It can be different for everyone. Nostalgic times often come about at celebratory times, such as the season just past, new year, birthdays or anniversaries.

That sentimental moment we would like to live again. The one we can't reproduce. The moment that eludes the present time. A memory brought to the surface. A personal moment relived in the mind.

Nostalgia for me has yet to come. I do feel nostalgic about what might be. Can you feel nostalgic about something that has not happened yet? I think I do. To some degree anyway, I may not be able to see what the future is like, But! I can imagine different futures. One of these futures does provide for a nostalgic feeling. Maybe in time I will look back and remember this post while feeling the nostalgia I see in a future time.

Looking out to a field of green. Youngsters imaginations running wild and free. Their futures not yet written. Futures unlimited to explore. More freedom to live, less pressure to acquire. Being able to have the joy of the moment and create their own nostalgic moments.

For me I dream of nostalgia.
