Nowadays, fashion is no longer limited to clothes only. Almost every second person on social media is following some kind of trend. Sometimes oversized shirts become popular, sometimes sneakers, and sometimes styles go viral that do not even seem practical in real life. Honestly, it feels like people enjoy fashion less and compete more.
I have personally noticed that whenever a new fashion trend appears, people immediately try to copy it. It does not matter whether it suits their personality or not. They just want to fit in or look good online. This pressure is especially strong among young people.
One of my friends once spent almost half of his salary just to buy trending shoes. When I asked him why he spent so much money, he laughed and said, “Bro, style matters too.” But after a few weeks, those same shoes were no longer considered trendy. That was the moment I realized that fashion never stops. What is trending today can become outdated tomorrow.
That does not mean fashion is a bad thing. Fashion is actually a way of expressing yourself. The way a person dresses often reflects their personality. The real problem starts when people make themselves uncomfortable just to impress others.
These days, street fashion is becoming very popular. Loose shirts, cargo pants, caps, and clean sneakers are everywhere. Personally, I prefer simple fashion. Nothing too heavy or overloaded with fake brands. Just clean and comfortable. Because real confidence does not come from clothes; it comes from a person’s behavior and attitude.
Social media has made the fashion industry move very fast. One viral reel can change market trends overnight. Even in Pakistan, fashion trends change quickly now. Local brands are also following international styles. Still, I believe we should value our cultural dressing too. Traditional shalwar kameez has its own elegance that never gets old.
In the end, I would simply say: follow fashion, but do not ignore your comfort or financial limits. Not every trend is made for everyone. The best fashion is the one that naturally suits you.
