Yes! You read that right. Before you reacts take some time to read me.
I always hear most men say, "I would die for my family," and when you look at the statement, it sounds so powerful, sacrificial and a statement of deeper love. But what do this statement really mean, are you actually going to die for your family? I know what they mean by that statement is that they are willing to sacrifice everything for the wellbeing of their family. They would provide and protect them at all times. They would make sure that their children achieve their goals and become successful people.
But do you need to die to do any of that?
I think the statement shouldn't be "I would die for my family," but instead it should be "I will live for my family."
You need to be alive to be able to do all the good things you plan to do for your family, and to be alive you need to live a healthy lifestyle. It's not about how much you are willing to sacrifice for them, but how much you are willing to stay alive to keep sacrificing for them. Many men work hard everyday to provide for their families without ever having ample time to check on their health. When you look at that your son or daughter that makes you happy and think about the dream you have for them, it's a reminder call to you to think about how much you are going to live for them, because if you are not alive that dreams may never see the light of the day.
Living for your family must be the priority of every wise man. You must be willing to wake every morning and take care of your health by engaging in sporting exercise. This is something that majority of men hardly do or even think about. You wake up every morning, rush to the bathroom to have your bath, get into your clothes and dash out of the house even without eating breakfast. And most would not remember to eat their breakfast until late in the afternoon.
How would you be able to die for your family as you say in that way; no time to check time?
Now, this is it, you don't have to die, you need to live. Eat healthy meal, take care of your mental health and avoid habits that destroy health. This is the real way to die for your family, chosen to live a healthy lifestyle while chasing your dreams to create a better life for the people you love so much.
Never say you are going to die for your family, instead say you are going to live for them, because living for them is a commitment to yourself. It's easier to make bold statement about sacrifice for your family than making daily decisions that requires discipline for health sake. What your family needs from you is not to die for them today, they need you to be there for them, they need your presence, your guidance.
They need you healthy
They need you to be in a clear thinking mind
They want to see you showing up, not just once, but again and again.
Your kids need to see you watch them grow up and become men and women.
The same way I am saying this to others is the same way I am saying it to myself. I don't need to die for my family, I need to live in a way that keeps me alive for them, strong, healthy, present and capable. The greatest sacrifice a man can give to his family is not dying young, and to live well, see your dreams for your children become realities.
You don't need to die for them, but to live for them.
