It's a meaningful day to day for me because it is my birthday. I did not only age a year older but it is a new age year for me to learn more about life.
As usual, I did my birthday traditions: I sang a happy birthday song to myself in the first five minutes of the day and hugged myself. I greeted myself with a happy birthday while smiling. Just simple things that I do to brighten up my day.
Although it is not the usual birthday for me as I took an exam earlier this morning. On my recent birthdays, I'd just stay in bed and lounge all-day before I go to church.
I bathed the dogs this afternoon and then took a shower before I headed out to attend the mass. A simple way of thanking God for giving me another year to live.
I couldn't believe that I am already 24 years old today. The kid that I was before is now growing up into a young adult. So many choices and decisions to make but hey, I know God is always there to guide me as I always pray that he would be there guiding me and helping me make wise decisions.
I am more loving to celebrate my birthdays now. Feeling more alive and wanting to smile more. Thinking about my previous birthdays when I was still a teenager, the young adult in me has really changed for the better and learned to appreciate life more.
I am thankful for friends and family. And also to my furry pets who give me unconditional love. And to you guys, my virtual friends.
I wish to always be guided in life. To have a healthy mind and body. And for the people around me to always be safe and healthy.
Growing old for others may be scary for some but for me, it's just a number. What matters the most are the life lessons I learned and what I am about to learn.
To myself,
Continue to live life. When in doubt and troubled, take a rest and give your best shot when you already feel your best. There's more to life that is ahead of us. Take one step at a time. And as you take a step, do not forget God as he will guide you in your path. As they say, "Walk with feet, walk with faith". Happy birthday! I hope you continue to give happiness to other people and be happy for yourself.
