Well, here we are with another Wednesday, so another installment of Wednesday Wine is on the menu. If you aren't familiar, Wednesday Wine is a term used for everyday drinking wine. Noting special or expensive, just good drinking juice. Today we are going to feature some of my favorite under $16 bottles. Alright, enough of the jibber jabber, let's get to the wine!
Chamisal Vineyards Stainless Chardonnay, Central Coast California $12-15
This Chardonnay drinks a little lighter than a lot of Chardonnay from California. Like the name suggests, it has been fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks. There is no oaky or buttery notes to this wine, it is about as crisp and clean as it gets! Think crisp greenish apple, pear, and acidity. This is made in the style of Chablis, but lacks the minerality. Good stuff for under $15!!
Chateau St Cosme Little James Basket Press Blanc, Rhone Valley, France $12-15
This is a killer bottle of white wine, weird blend, but killer wine. This is a bizarre blend of 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Viognier, VERY untraditional. Like I said though, this wine is fantastic!! Very big aromatics of flowers citrus, and tropical fruits. With flavors of tropical fruits, peaches, and rally bright acidity. Seriously, for under $15, this is hard to beat!!
Tikves Vranec Special Selection, Macedonia $9-12
Ok, let's expand your wine knowledge here. Vranec is the grape, and is an indigenous varietal to Macedonia. It is full bodied, but the tannins are fairly soft and light. Lots of dark berry and plum flavors. The finish is seriously forever. I think I was still tasting it several minutes after the tasting was over. You need food with this, in my opinion. Big, heavy dishes would be perfect!
Well folks, there you have it, 3 great wines that you can drink any day of the week. Thanks again for joining me! Your upvotes and resteems mean so much to me. I can't thank you enough!!
