In October of 2016 I got to spend a fantastic day at a beach in Haiti. Without any sand, the beach was a sea of brilliant white stones littered with shells thrown aground after Hurricane Matthew. We watched the waves hitting the shore, collected shells, and dabbled along the waters edge. The breeze off of the water was perfect in the hot weather and we spent some time lounging under a thatched beach umbrella and sipping on Sprite.
We took pictures of palm trees and coconuts brought down by the storm, laid out our beachcombing finds on our table, and generally just had a chance to relax after a very stressful time getting there.
At the end of the day I was able to add this to my list of favourite beach days with my kids!
