You can find adventurous people all around the world. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, ages & nationalities. Due to my work I get the pleasure of meeting a lot of them and it is always interesting to talk to them. Majority of the time you can never guess whom these people are just by looking at them - "Never judge a book by its cover".
From the photo though you can see that they are actually snowshoeing over this mountain ridge near Port Lockroy, which happens to be a British postal office. At the time I took the photo I was guiding a zodiac cruise and talking about Weddell seals that were lazing around on sea ice unaffected by my presence.
What you join in on such a hike in those conditions?
“Once wedded to Nature there is no divorce - separate her you may and hide yourself amongst the flesh-pots of London, but the wild will keep calling and calling forever in your ears. You cannot escape the ‘little voices’."
