In these days, I had some some traditional Hong Kong-style food with my friends and family, and I would like to share them on Steemit to allow Steemians from other countries or regions to know more about the Hong Kong food culture.
這幾天,我跟朋友一起吃了點傳統港式美食。我想在Steemit分享一下,令其他地區的Steemians加深對港式美食的認識。
I first went to "yum cha" with my family. "Yum Cha" refers to a Cantonese tradition of of brunch involving Chinese tea and dim sum, which is popular in Cantonese-speaking regions such as Hong Kong and Guangdong. It is a norm in HK that different groups of family go to yum cha in the afternoon. These are the dishes we ate:
我和家庭成員先到了港式茶樓「飲茶」,CN區的朋友都應該知道香港人的「飲茶」代表吃點心及喝中國茶。「飲茶」在廣東地區特別受歡迎,不少家庭都會在下午聚在一塊吃點心。以下是我們吃的點心:
"Xiao Mai" - Steamed dumplings with pork and prawns 燒賣
"Har Gao"- Steamed dumpling with shrimp filling 蝦餃
Steamed buns with milk custard filling (my favorite!) 奶黃包(我的最愛!)
Turnip cake 蘿蔔糕
The next day, I went to a nostalgic Hong Kong styled tea restaurant for lunch (normally known as "Cha Chaan Teng" in HK). This type of restaurants provides Hong Kong-style Western Cuisine, reflecting the influence of British culture in Hong Kong cuisine.
第二天,我跟朋友到一間懷舊港式茶餐廳吃午餐。港式茶餐廳的菜色融合了中西文化,體現了英國文化對香港飲食文化的影響。

After lunch, we walked around for street food and ate a thick grid cake, yummy!
