I've got nominated by for participating in the "Desert Island Disc Music Challenge'.
This challenge, challenges you to name 5 albums you would take if you were stranded on a desert island for one year with only a device to play them.... I think it's a great challenge but makes you think hard "Which songs can I listen to all year" :)
So here are my five albums I can't miss a year and have to be with me on the island.. have picked these albums from a short list I first created that held 15 albums.
1. Green Day – Warning
One off my all-time favourite bands Green Day so it has to be in my list of albums. Hard to pick just one album of these guys, this one was the winner of my short list that also held “Dookie” and “American Idiot”.
This album holds some nice bass and guitar loops I like, could be another outcome if I had to make this list next week but what the heck I have a Green Day album with me. For today I give you guys the title song "Warning", love the guitar play in this song.
I have to have at least one rap album with me so I had to choose between Cypress Hill and Ice Cube, as you can see Cube won the draw. Choose a greatest hit compilation for this album as it holds some of the best classic cube songs.
Been a fan of Ice Cube since he quit N.W.A. to start Lench Mob Records to bring out his solo albums. Great beats and even greater lyrics by Mr O’Shea Jackson. For this list I give you guys the song “It Was a Good Day” from the album “The Predetor”
3. Rolling Stones – Exile on Main St.
A classic Stones album has to be there with me, love this 1972 album by the boys.
Have read some biographies about the Stones and their members and every time I find myself smiling when it goes about when and how they made this album in a villa in the south of France. In my Stones collection this is the most played album so that’s why I picked this album to go with me. For this list I choose the number “Shake your Hips”
Have to have an album from this Dutch Rock chick whom I have seen perform live quit some times.
I am especially fond of the early work of this rock diva from the Hague therefore I bring along the first studio album to the island. Have seen here perform live multiple times and love the energy she puts into the performance.
Best performance ever was when she was doped up because of a cold and made some very funny commits on stage, singing was still amazingly good. Of this album I give you guys the song "Nobody’s Wife" as it is the first song on the album.
My all-time favourite Prince album has to be with me on the island, since the first time I heard this album I was hooked on it.
Don’t know what it is exactly why I liked this album so much, I think the combination of the music and the lyrics. Therefore this will be my fifth album to put in the suitcase when I go to the island for a year. For today I give you guys the title song of this album,Sign o'the times, why…cause I love this Song.
thanks once again for a challenge about music, loved it to really to think about the music I wanted to take with me.
