I was moving some old cedar lumber cutoffs from near my shed when I came across this insect (which first looked like some bits of grass stuck in a spider web). I used the 90mm Sony macro on the A6500 - handheld at f9 for 1/30s (pushing the limits of handheld time). Upon closeup inspection, the body is quite interesting with a featherlike covering... it was a bit blurred hence - no close up.
The common name for this insect is the Plume Moth... that figures, moth season is upon us here in Denver though I haven't seen many Miller moths yet!
