The pieces
of my heart are
scattered about,
but alas,
it is not broken.
Collect them
I will,
binding them with
the reminiscence
of yesterday’s
laughter
and the tears
that refuse
to relent.

I write this to release some emotion, as I am in the grieving process for someone who still lives. Reggie has an aggressive form of dementia, and we are nearing the point of him not knowing anything that's going on around him. This bike was his outlet to ride the wind, though my backside protested riding with him more than half an hour. Hot, but not very comfortable for the extra rider. He was a Harley dude, and one of the most fascinating and lovable persons I've ever had the privilege of knowing. It is an honor to love him.
