Last week I was in the city of Bangkok once again this time around, I wanted to visit some green areas of Bangkok city and the one green area that was practically walking distance from the hotel were, I was staying was called Benjakiti Park, looking this park up on google showed me it wasn't one of the biggest green area park in Bangkok only covering 52 acres, were as the biggest park in Bangkok is King Rama 9 park covering a area of 200 acres but, I was content walking a smaller park plus been in the middle of Bangkok city there were a lot of interesting reflecting into the Benjakiti park lake.

Benjakiti Park is easily accessible by Skytrain from the Sukhumvit Line you stop at the Asok BTS Station and it's only a 10 minute walk from the Asok BTS Satation been a park in the city center is very convenient for office workers to pop across the road from there work place and enjoy a nice lunch in a green area enjoying the fresh air. Bangkok city has many green area parks set up near office buildings for this reason, nice to be looking out your office window and seeing a forest in front of you makes your day more refreshing and calm.

I was quite surprised when, I googled parks in Bangkok city, I came to know that the capital city is just not only, all about impressive skyscrapers and shopping malls the city has over a dozen huge impressive green area parks providing the people of Bangkok, lots of fresh air and many varieties of healthy outdoor activities like Benjakiti Park, it has a full proper cycling track right around the park which is about a 4km circuit separate from the jogging and walking tracks so you don't get run down by them cyclist.

Although most of Benjakiti Park, is taken up by this huge man made lake, it was very enjoyable walking around the outside perimeter of this lake, the lake was nicely dressed with beautiful trees and flowers around the outside wall and with those nearby skyscrapers reflecting into the lake made some pretty stunning photos.

On the other side of the park, I found walking through this section of the park was more for relaxing under the shady trees reading a book or having a nap or if you are into exercising there are several exercising machines to help you burn of them calories.

They even have a beautiful outdoor pavilion extending over the lake for those live band music concerts of a evening which at the moment is fenced of because of the Covid no live bands at moment.

What is a park without a few statues around and indeed they must have a statue of a Buddha in the park after all this is Thailand, this Buddha statue is called Phra Buddha Wisuthimongkol and the Lotus flower is another symbol of there Buddhism religion so there must be one of them also within the park, apart from a couple other statues, I saw around this park which were all very impressive.

The forest area of the park was very beautifully maintained and manicured and was undergoing some re-planting of the new season plants as, I was seeing while walking around. The many colorful flowers around the park are always a joy to see especially ones that you have never seen before and there were some, I hadn't seen of known of before.

There is a small playground for the kids and you can hire bicycles or paddle boats and paddle your way around the lake enjoying the outer views from the middle of the lake or play on your phone under a shady tree while a Monitor Lizard comes by to say hello to you, I was amazed never seen one of these fellas before just roaming around freely and that girl under the tree didn't even blink a eye while this Monitor Lizard was cruising pass.
