And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. - Habakkuk 2:2 (KJV)
The first step towards success in life is having goals, visions, aims... Whatever you want to call it, you should basically have an idea of how you want your life to play out rather than just living for today, without a plan for the future. How sweet tomorrow will be, you will decide today. What you are today is a reflection of the decisions you made yesterday or yesteryear. Likewise, your vision for tomorrow will help you fashion out how to achieve your desired future.
Goals are expectations or desires that are time bound. That is something you desire to achieve within a set period of time. Mostly, the bigger the vision, the longer the time of its achievement could be, but with a good strategy, this may not necessarily follow. The important part of having a goal however, is to have it written. No matter how intelligent you may be, your goals will be mere desires if they srebjot written. Thus, they are easily blown away by the pressures all around. There are three aspects to this verse
- Write the vision
- Make it plain
- Make it bold and legible.
Making your visions plain may mean being explicit. Your goals must be intentional and precise, written in plain language that you will easily understand, and written in a book that is of great value to you, and which is portable, so that you can monitor your progress per time and make regular appraisal of your efforts at achieving the goals written in it. That he may run that read it...
Your goals need to be strategic, lucid, and well documented in simple terms so that you will be easily guided while working towards its achievement.
