Greeting everyone,
I am new to this community, but I enjoy challenging any quest or contest on the HIVE platform, which I guess is part of my journey in HIVE. I would like to congratulate , who has initiated another contest to make this platform much merrier.
This is my first submission to the contest with this week's theme: BUILDINGS
If you are interested in joining the contest, you can check out their contest LINK HERE
JOURNEY TO POPE MOUNTAIN
One of the best things to do in Myanmar is to see the rare buildings or temples like this. I shot this temple from one of the nearest resorts in town using a telephoto lens.
This is the original photo before the cropping. According to locals, before the stairs were built, it was a very dangerous and steep path to reach the top of the mountain. But even though it was dangerous, many came to pray or just visit this mountain, so the authorities made a proper staircase to reach the top. At the time I was visiting, it was easy to reach the top, but it still made me tired because the stairs were quite steeper than usual.
After walking for around 25 minutes using the shortcut path that has been made by the resort through the jungle, I reach the foothills.
Another unique rule that you have to follow is not to use a slipper or shoe while climbing the stairs. You can rent a box to keep your slipper or bring it up using plastic that has being prepare . I choose to bring it up because its not heavy that can disturb you walking . Along the way, you can see the stairs being cleaned by the volunteer locals in every section of the stairs. There was no payment for them , but the visitor was allowed put some money for them in the collection box if you want.
When you reach at the temples , you can see this beautiful and breathtaking landscape from the higher grounds .
The place that we can go around this place is surprising small; there is some area that cannot be accessed by the public unless you get their permission, which is, i guess, the hidden building inside the mountain. I smell the adventure, but I have no access to reach that area, so I'll keep it for future adventures.
There were some stupas and buddhas available around the temple building, where people prayed for wealth, health, and prosperity. There were not many people when I was there. I think it was because it was not the weekend or holidays, and I could not see any tourists around. I guess it was because this place was hidden and not many people or tourists knew about it. Most of the people who came were locals, and I think I can count the monks as visitors as they were playing around at that place.
The close-up stupa around those buildings, as you can see from the first photo above,
Thanks for stopping by . I hope you enjoy today series and see you in another chapter . Cheers.
