There is lots of debate, as th whether fruits are healthy, owing to the sugar content.
Some fruit such as mangoes, are high up the glycemic index. However, it depends what you compare it with.
The benchmark, has to be refined carbohydrates such as bread and pasta.
In that context, fruit is water rich, fibre rich, and nutrients to rich.
Then there is it issue of WHEN one eats the fruit. With some claiming that eating fruit after a meal, purifies in the stomach, and interferes with digestion .
Personally, I will stick with nature, as the micro nutrients I natural foods
are destroyed in industrial processing.
Hence I have fruit on an empty stomach, as a healthy, refreshing snack.
