Una introducción necesaria
Dentro de estas hazañas hay una que a juicio del autor está entre lo mejor que ha sucedido en toda la historia de estas competiciones y que por su relevancia ha decidido compartir con los miembros de esta comunidad. Fue necesario esperar a la culminación de los juegos, para ver si había algún evento que pudiera igualar o superar la calidad de este.
En esta publicación el autor hará un análisis de lo sucedido, en lo que él considera como el mejor evento de todos los Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe: La final Femenina del Triple Salto.
El triple salto femenino en Centroamérica y el Caribe
Desde hace algunos años las atletas de esta región del planeta vienen dominando la especialidad del triple salto femenino. Tres países de esta área geográfica han tenido el dominio de la especialidad: Cuba, Colombia y Venezuela, mediante las atletas Yargelis Savigne que ganó tres Campeonatos Mundiales, Catherine Ibargüen quien lo ganó todo en el escenario atlético mundial, pues, entre sus títulos más importantes están los de campeona olímpica, mundial, centroamericana, panamericana y la reina actual de la especialidad la venezolana Yulimar Rojas que ya ostenta un palmarés brillante y en sus vitrinas guarda los títulos olímpicos y mundiales; además de poseer los récor del mundo, olímpico y centroamericano.
La final del triple salto femenino
Cuando se supo la inscripción de las triplistas que estarían en la final de San Salvador se sabía que la lucha por las medallas de plata y bronce era entre las dos cubanas porque nadie dudaba de la corona de la venezolana Yulimar Rojas porque desde hace varios años ella no va a ganar a las competencias, sino a deleitarnos con su capacidad de superación y a intentar llegar más lejos en cada salto.

Yulimar es una atleta excepcional. Para los que amamos y seguimos este deporte así lo apreciamos. Desde sus condiciones naturales, hasta sus condiciones técnicas, carisma y entrega le hacen merecedora de este calificativo. Es una atleta que técnicamente es muy buena porque en el primer salto o salto de despegue demuestra una fuerza increíble, pero su segundo salto es lo mejor, que a juicio del autor ella tiene.
Cuando ella logra que su salto de despegue le quede bien y su segundo lo hace como sólo ella sabe entonces el empuje y fuerza del tercero la hacen llegar más lejos que nadie.
Y así sucedió. En el primer intento Yulimar saltó 15.16 metros que le bastó para ganar la medalla de oro y de paso romper el récord centroamericano de Catherine Ibargüen.

Lo anterior es cierto, pero lo que vino a continuación fue un verdadero show protagonizado por las dos cubanas, pero, sobre todo por Leyanis Pérez quien logró superar su mejor marca en competencias oficiales y saltar 14.98 metros, para alcanzar la medalla de plata y de paso situarse a dos centímetros de la ansiada marca de los 15 metros.
La otra cubana no se entregó fácil ni mucho menos y demostró que, a pesar la más pequeña de las tres medallistas tiene un corazón gigantesco. Liadagmis Povea saltó 14.85 y alcanzó un metal bronceado que, en cualquier otra competencia podría ser medalla de oro.
Un salto final
Lo vivido en la final del triple salto femenino de San Salvador fue espectacular. Para que se tenga una idea del porqué del título de esta publicación: En los últimos juegos olímpicos se realizó la mejor competencia de triple salto femenino de la historia. Allí Yulimar rompió el récord olímpico y mundial y llegó hasta los 15.67, mientras la plata y el bronce llegaban a los 15.01m y 14.87m respectivamente. Todavía recuerdo esa final porque estaba Yulimar, dos atletas saltaron por encima de los 15 metros y las tres medallistas eran entrenadas por el cubano Iván Pedroso Soler.
Lo anterior da una idea de la calidad de este evento en los Centroamericanos y de paso, algo que muchos comienzan a señalar, porque puede que Leyanis Pérez se haya convertido en la próxima reina del triple salto internacional. Veremos qué pasa en el mundial del próximo mes.

A necessary introduction
The XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games have concluded. For 18 days, San Salvador, capital of El Salvador, was the home of all the athletes of the Central American and Caribbean area. It was an event full of great emotions and in which relevant events took place in the context of these games and which left feats very difficult to repeat or surpass.
Among these feats there is one that in the author's opinion is among the best that has happened in the history of these competitions and that, due to its relevance, he has decided to share with the members of this community. It was necessary to wait for the culmination of the games to see if there was any event that could equal or surpass the quality of this one.
In this publication the author will make an analysis of what happened in what he considers to be the best event of all the Central American and Caribbean Games: The Women's Triple Jump Final.
The Women's Triple Jump in Central America and the Caribbean
For some years now, athletes from this region of the planet have been dominating the women's triple jump specialty. Three countries in this geographic area have dominated the specialty: Cuba, Colombia and Venezuela, through the athletes Yargelis Savigne who won three World Championships, Catherine Ibargüen who won everything in the world athletic scenario, since, among her most important titles are those of Olympic, World, Central American, Pan American champion and the current queen of the specialty the Venezuelan Yulimar Rojas who already holds a brilliant record and in her showcases she keeps the Olympic and World titles; besides holding the World, Olympic and Central American records.
The women's triple jump final
When the registration of the triple jumpers who would be in the final in San Salvador was announced, it was known that the fight for the silver and bronze medals was between the two Cubans because nobody doubted the crown of the Venezuelan Yulimar Rojas because for several years she has not been going to win in competitions, but to delight us with her ability to overcome and to try to go further in each jump.

Yulimar is an exceptional athlete. For those of us who love and follow this sport, we appreciate it. From her natural conditions, to her technical conditions, charisma and dedication make her worthy of this qualification. She is an athlete that technically is very good because in the first jump or take-off jump she shows an incredible strength, but her second jump is the best, that in the author's opinion she has.
When she gets her take-off jump right and her second one as only she knows how, then the thrust and strength of the third one makes her go farther than anyone else.
And so it happened. On the first attempt Yulimar jumped 15.16 meters which was enough to win the gold medal and in the process break Catherine Ibargüen's Central American record.

This is true, but what followed was a real show by the two Cubans, but especially by Leyanis Perez, who managed to surpass her best mark in official competitions and jump 14.98 meters, to win the silver medal and in the process get two centimeters away from the coveted mark of 15 meters.
The other Cuban did not give up easily and showed that, despite being the smallest of the three medalists, she has a gigantic heart. Liadagmis Povea jumped 14.85 and achieved a bronze metal that, in any other competition, could have been a gold medal.

The final of the women's triple jump in San Salvador was spectacular. To give you an idea of the reason for the title of this publication: The last Olympic Games saw the best women's triple jump competition in history. There Yulimar broke the Olympic and world record and reached 15.67, while the silver and bronze went to 15.01m and 14.87m respectively. I still remember that final because Yulimar was there, two athletes jumped over 15 meters and all three medalists were coached by Cuban Ivan Pedroso Soler.
The above gives an idea of the quality of this event in the Central American Games and, incidentally, something that many are beginning to point out, because Leyanis Perez may have become the next queen of the international triple jump. We will see what happens at next month's world championships.
