Aquaponics is the union of hydroponics (growing plants without soil) and aquaculture (farming fish) for a fast, efficient method of producing both plant and fish crops. Fish waste from the aquaculture portion of the system, is broken down by bacteria into dissolved nutrients (e.g., nitrogen and phosphorus compounds) that plants utilize to grow , This nutrient removal not only improves water quality for the fish but also The water is recirculated in a closed system lowering the consumption of this resource.
Aquaponic main benefits
1 grow organic with out need of soil means you can do it every were in any size and shape you want in side or out side the house
2 grow organic food ,you hardly ever need to use pesticides bcuz no soil to transfer disease and hardly ever need of fertilizer
3 eating the fish after they grow up is a bonus after all it's a fish farm haha
4 preserved water , which now everyone is crying about
a simple aquaponic
The main idea is to put the pipes in such a way that you can pump water into the elevated pipe so it runs down along the pipe then back down the fish tank.
Some helpful ideas from YouTube
I tried to give it a try my self , i have a large concrete water storage for irrigation mostly fruits and olives but what i found was in my area it's cheaper to buy vegetables than to grow them especially if you count the food for a large amount of fish ...... now remember I'm not emphasizing that vegetables from supermarkets are ok or better especially they are 100% swimming in pesticides .
I'm taking it step by step fruits are much easier for now , my hands are full , next step is vegetables then farm animals and lay back and watch humanity slides bye .
