I'm kinda 50/50 on news. I know I could make more / lose less if I followed the news more but I just find it a complete distraction at times.

I try to stay out the market around expected major events, sometimes I'll trade them but that's it.

Unexpected news gives me spikes into big profit or big losses, it kinda averages out overall though which is why I tend not to follow it.
