As per reports published on Gateway Pundit, WikiLeaks shop was banned by Coinbase for violating Terms of Service conditions. Coinbase, a US based crypto currency trading platform, blocked WikiLeaks shop and announced that they will no longer process brokerage orders for WikiLeaks via their banking relationship. They then advised WikiLeaks Shop to redirect its remaining balance to any other external digital wallet.
According to WikiLeaks Twitter handle, Coinbase’s move was unexpected and they didn’t offer any explanation for such sudden decision.
Reportedly, WikiLeaks reached out to Coinbase for a logical explanation but was extremely dissatisfied because of Coinbase’s failure of providing sufficient information about their decision.
In response against Coinbase’s suspension, WikiLeaks asked its millions of Twitter followers to donate Bitcoin on their website and calling for a “global blockade” of Coinbase for their unprofessional attitude. They claim that WikiLeaks shop is harmless and declared Coinbase as an unfit member of the popular crypto community.
Followers of WikiLeaks Shop were seen defending the site and many even threatened to leave Coinbase as a protest to such ban.
Based on another report of Gateway Pundit, WikiLeaks Shop was actually blocked since March from receiving any crypto currency payments.
