Salut! I’m Trang -- a mathematician by training and currently doing biomedical research at the University of Pennsylvania. My current aim on here is to become a STEAM-ian boss.
To start off, my latest projects include:
- privateEC (Private evaporative cooling) where I incorporate the notion of differential privacy into machine learning methods to optimize their generalizability;
- STIR (STatistical Inference of Relief-based methods) where I reconceptualize the Relief-based feature selection algorithms to create a new family of STIR that allows for statistical parametric tests;
- Expanding TPOT (Tree-based Pipeline Optimization Tool) to be applicable for large datasets such as in genome-wide association studies.
- DELFT (DEep Learning For TPOT) where I integrate recurrent neural networks in TPOT classifiers
So yeah. I will be stirring tea-test in my delft teapot until I realize it’s all evaporated.
Oh and I actually very recently submitted my very first preprint after being constantly nagged by about open science. This paper has nothing to do with what I have been working on, but oh well, what else can you do to please your advisor ¯\(ツ)/¯. While we’re on the topic of non-Newtonian physics, have an enjoyable read on the rheology of cats.
Okay so I was kidding about the STEAMian boss thing. To write more on science would be dope, but expect to see many posts about running, biking, hiking, wakeboarding, lindy hop, jazz, aikido, and even some guitar playing in the next months to come!
Cheers!
