Probably many people assume that if you live as close to the water as we do, then we are in the sea every day. Well, that's what we thought when we were still in Germany. But things are different now.
Not every day we are close to the water, often many kilometres away from it.
Not every day we feel like bathing in the sea. There's so much to experience. Of course, sometimes we spend a whole day on the beach only, but actually it's the case that there is really not much happening.
For us, the beach is like a holiday, because that's rare. Most of the time we drive around inland and work our way through the area of the local tables, eh animals: -)
You see the peacock downstairs? Here in Sri Lanka there are an infinite number of wild ones. I think the peacocks originally came from Sri Lanka. Unfortunately, I have never really been able to get to them without them running away.
But if you see three to four of them on the rice field, it makes you speechless, I can tell you that. The photos were taken with my 200 telephoto, you see, even so it's still too far away.
Maybe one day I'll be able to get close enough to record one.....
Wahrscheinlich nehmen viele an, wenn man so nah am Wasser lebt wie wir, dann sind wir jeden Tag im Meer. Na gut, das haben wir auch gedacht, als wir noch in Deutschland waren. Aber mittlerweile sieht es ganz anders aus.
-Nicht jeden Tag sind wir in der Nähe des Wasser, oft auch viele Kilometer davon entfernt.
-Nicht jeden Tag haben wir Lust aufs Baden im Meer. Es gibt so viel zu erleben. Klar manchmal ist es so dass wir einen ganzen Tag nur am Strand verbringen, aber eigentlich ist es so, dass es wirklich wenig vorkommt.
Strand ist für uns auch wie Urlaub, denn das ist selten. Meistens fahren wir im Landesinneren herum und arbeiten uns durch die Gegend der einheimischen Tische, äh Tiere :-)
Siehst du unten den Pfau? Hier auf Sri Lanka gibt es unendlich viele wilde davon. Ich glaube die Pfauen kommen ursprünglich auch von Sri Lanka. Leider konnte ich bisher nie so richtig an sie heran, ohne dass sie gleich wegrennen.
Aber wenn du 3- 4 von denen auf dem Reisfeld siehst, dann macht es dich sprachlos, dass kann ich dir sagen. Die Fotos sind mit meinem 200er Tele gemacht worden, du siehst, selbst damit ist es noch viel zu weit weg.
Vielleicht schaffe ich es einmal nah einen aufzunehmen....
