As a hair stylist, there are so many people that I come in contact with. Some, not all, are such assholes. I may be getting paid to do my job but not enough to put up with some of the crap people pull.
Don't tell me how to do my job...
I have 2000 hrs worth of training and six yrs experience; I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing compared to your expertise. I have the perfect example for you all. My co worker has a client that comes in for highlights once a month. She insists that she knows the ideal placements for her hightlights. She picks every strand of hair that she wants to be colored rather than having a typical highlight with more coverage. More bang for your buck is what i say.
Know what you want when you come to the salon...
Men are the worst with this. Which makes no sense, they get the same damn cut every time. Haha, When I ask what they would like done with their haircut they say, "shorter." Dude, that means anything.. you want a buzzcut? I can shave you bald. Haha, I'm laughing just because how stupid it is, not because its funny to do that. The process of a consultation is for the client's benefit. Make it worth it.
Stylists are not your bitch; they are doing a service for you...
You may be paying them, as I said before, but not much. I personally enjoy what I do, and I want to make my clients happy, but I am not a magician. If you put a black box color on your hair and come to me a week later wanting to be blonde. You are asking for a miracle.
These are just a few of my pet peeves as a stylist. Treat us well! We will treat you well. I love what I do, and I will continue to bite my tongue to those assholes haha
