1) Veridia

This is a little known band which is still at the initial stage of their career. They were formed in December of 2012 by the lead singer Deena Jakoub and guitar player Brandon Brown and released a few EPs independently.

They have finally got their break in 2018, when they signed a contract with Razor & Tie and started working on a full album. Later that year they have toured along with Evanescence and Amy Lee was seen playing a live song with them. 🤗

2) Värttinä

Style: Folk / World Music
Country: Finland

This is a highly creative band from the coldest regions of Europe. Their music, however, is quite warm and full of life. They play a modern kind of folk and have the particularity of having 3 lead singers: Karoliina Kantelinen, Mari Kaasinen & Susan Aho.

Besides the vocalists, they have 3 acoustic musicians on the group: Matti Kallio on the accordion, Hannu Rantanen on the bass and Mikko Hassinen on the drums & percussion.

Their music can sound anything from beautiful and ethereal... to scary and demonic. The song Äijö is a perfect example of that. Be sure to wait for the minute 3:21 to know what I mean. Trust me, Susan Aho will probably scare you with that voice! 😁

At this time, the band had 4 vocalists. Kirsi Kähkönen and Riikka Väyrynen are no longer in the group. This band has changed its formation a lot of times through the years... but they have always kept their identity.
