If you know me, then you know that I spend a lot of my day writing. I'd say that it's one of the things that I actually do for the majority of my day.
It occupies a lot of my time and it's one of the mainstays in my daily rituals and habits.
Writing, regardless of whether you write publicly or in your own private journals, is often a selfish endeavor.
Especially in my case - I write to clarify my thinking and elaborate on my own thoughts.
Writing is therapeutic in this sense.
Writing allows me to take all of the millions of ideas in my head and put them to "test", so to speak.
Writing is what allows these ideas to actually blossom into something tangible.
If you don't write your ideas down, then it's hard to really grasp them. They're intangible and they're much more "slippery".
At any moment, our monkey brain could lose grip of an idea or learn a new idea that comletely changes the original idea.
For this, writing is a great way to solidify a certain moment and certain way of thinking. When you write that idea down, you can always refer to it 1 day, 1 week or 10 years later and get a glimpse into your mind at that moment.
This type of hindsight is so beneficial for everyone, regardless of what field you're in. I'm a full-time investor, so writing is one of the main tools that I have to clarify my thinking and ensure that I'm making better investment decisions over time!!
Why do you write?
