The Nintendo Switch is getting a special edition of the classic Cave Story game. While this is a great game it kind of continues the tradition of Nintendo Switch releases so far – more of the same gamers already bought elsewhere.
This tactic is probably not going to result in great sales for the Switch version and the developers/publisher are going to end up leaving the platform in disgust over poor sales. Just a thought here. I could be wrong.
Cave Story+ is coming in at about 137 MB and will be available in digital and physical formats. You may be wondering what the “+” means in the title. Cave Story+ comes with upgraded graphics, 15 levels, 10 weapons and 7 new gameplay modes (Boss Rush and more).
Trailer from the 2011 Cave Story+ releaseWe recently heard that Capcom is basing their future Nintendo Switch development on the success of their release of Ultra Street Fighter II. Kind of unfair if you ask me as that is another title that is available on almost EVERY other platform out there and fans have bought many times already.
That is just me though. I am a fan of Cave Story but don’t have a Switch and won’t be buying one just for the few games I am interested in. Instead, I will continue to play Cave Story on the Sony PSP.
